Internet Browser
Internet browser software, also known as a web browser, finds and displays web pages. You will need a browser such as:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater
- Netscape Navigator 4.7 (java version) or greater
- Netscape Communicator 6.0 or greater
- Firefox
Download the most recent version free from Microsoft, Netscape or Mozilla.
Virus Protection Software
You will need to protect your computer from malicious software, also know as viruses. Search online for virus protection software such as:
Campus E-Mail Account - GrizMail
When you register for classes, a campus E-Mail account will be created for you. This E-Mail address will be used for all official correspondence from your instructors and the University.
Basic Computer Skills
You should be comfortable with word processing and have some experience using the Internet and E-Mail. Signing onto an Internet Service Provider (ISP) a few months before the semester begins will give you time to practice using the internet and E-Mail.
